Open House / Art Exhibition / Nov 27,28

I had the pleasure of sharing our home with 5 other artists for a weekend Open House.  Please have a look at the images below and my artist statement.

My recent work focuses on the subject of abandoned buildings in Portugal.   There is plenty of mystery and history in the decaying architecture. The textures, colours and the sense of materials merging into the undergrowth is evocative. 

I have found that a combination of collage and photo transfer are my preferred media.  I dye transparent papers, occasionally find appropriate magazine cuttings and work to splice and glue them together.  Sometimes I draw and paint.   I work on paper and canvas.
